Judd Trump beat Barry Hawkins 3-0 in the final of Championship League Group Three in Coventry to earn a spot in the Winners’ Group.
Trump, a three-time Championship League winner, was in fine form as he brushed aside Hawkins in under 40 minutes.
Trump made six century breaks over the two days of action, three of those coming in the semi-finals and final.
“It was a lot better this week, I felt I played pretty well and was able score heavily every time I got in. It’s given me a lot of confidence going into the Masters next week,” said Trump.
“It was a tough group with top players involved who were hitting a lot of century breaks, so for me it was perfect preparation for the Masters. Anytime you can beat Barry Hawkins 3-0 you must be playing pretty well.”
Trump now joins Neil Robertson and Jack Lisowski in the Winners’ Group, which takes place at Barnsley Metrodome on March 13th and 14th. They will be joined by the winners of the next four groups. Stuart Bingham and Mark Selby shared the group high break prize of Group Three after both making a 143.
Having finished fifth in the round robin group table, Luca Brecel will return to compete in Group Four along with Bingham, Selby, and Hawkins. They will be joined with Ali Carter, Graeme Dott, and Ryan Day.
Championship League Snooker is broadcast on a host of betting websites and on Seca in China.
Group Four commences at 11am on Wednesday January 9th. For live scores click here and for results and fixtures click here.
