Trump Flies Up Rankings

Judd Trump has jumped 68 places to fifth on the one year ranking list thanks to his victory at the 888sport European Masters.

The Ace in the Pack captured the eighth ranking title of his career by beating Stuart Bingham 9-7 in the final in Belgium on Sunday.

Trump had previously languished in 73rd place on the one year list but his £75,000 top prize sees him up into the top five.

Bingham banked £35,000 as runner-up and he’s up from 34th to 11th.

Zhou Yuelong reached the semi-finals of a ranking event for the first time and he’s up from 19th to 15th, while fellow Chinese potter Cao Yupeng also got to the semis for the first time and he is rewarded with a leap from 28th to 16th.

Luca Brecel got to the last 16 in his home tournament and he still tops the list with £192,600.

This list will once again be used to determine the field for the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix and Ladbrokes Players Championship later in the season. The top 32 on the one-year list after the Coral Shoot Out will qualify for the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix in Preston (February 19-25) then the top 16 from the same list after the Gibraltar Open will qualify for the Ladbrokes Players Championship in Llandudno (March 19-25).

As it stands there are eight players in the top 32 of the one year list who are outside the top 32 of the official two year list, and seven players in the top 16 of the one year list who are outside the top 16 of the two-year list.

Zhou – rising fast up the rankings

Trump remains in fourth place on the two-year list, though he closes the gap on third-placed John Higgins to £16,525. Bingham climbs two spots from 11th to ninth. Zhou jumps four places to 26th while Cao is up from 77th to 70th.

Trump’s victory was good news for Michael White as he is now guaranteed a place at the Champion of Champions in November.
