O'Sullivan Downs Day To Reach 14th Masters Semi

The Race To Cheltenham – Updated

The race to reach the Coral World Grand Prix will enter its final straight later this month at the D88.com German Masters in Berlin.

The magnificent Tempodrom arena in Berlin

The top 32 on the one-year ranking list at the end of the tournament in Germany (January 30 to February 3) will qualify automatically for the first of this season’s Coral Series events. The Coral World Grand Prix will run from February 4-10 at the Centaur arena at Cheltenham racecourse – the first ever snooker tournament staged at the Gloucestershire venue.

The qualifying rounds of the D88.com German Masters were played in December, with just 32 players going through to Berlin.

Here’s how the updated one-year list looks for the players inside the top 32 and others who have made it to Berlin. The list below includes D88.com German Masters prize money (£4,000 for reaching the last 32 and £3,000 for losing in the last 64). Players who have qualified for Berlin are in bold.

Michael Georgiou £18,100
Duane Jones £7,000

There are 12 players behind Gary Wilson who could still knock him out of the top 32

Having lost in the last 64, Gary Wilson is the man in 32nd place who must hope that results go his way and he is not over-taken. Zhou Yuelong and Robert Milkins would both need to win two more matches, reaching the quarter-finals, to go past Wilson, while others behind them will need a deeper run at the Tempodrom. But with an £80,000 top prize up for grabs, everyone who has made it to Berlin still has a chance of earning a spot in Cheltenham.

The top 16 on the one-year list (after the BetVictor Shoot Out) will qualify for the Coral Players Championship in Preston (March 4-10), and only the top eight (after the Gibraltar Open) will make it to the new Coral Tour Championship in Llandudno (March 19-24).
