Craig Steadman scored a memorable trio of wins on Saturday to reach the last 16 of the Lisbon Open.
World number 85 Steadman opened with a 4-1 victory over Shaun Murphy, who had won the previous two European Tour events. He then came from 3-0 down to beat Kyren Wilson 4-3, with a top break of 115, before recovering a 3-1 deficit to see off Joe Swail 4-3.
John Higgins beat Allan Taylor 4-1 in the last 32 and he’ll now meet Stephen Maguire, a 4-0 winner over Barry Pinches. Stuart Bingham beat Alex Davies 4-2 while Joel Walker scored a 4-1 win over Oliver Lines.
The tournament concludes on Sunday with the winner to pocket 25,000 Euros.
