Mark Selby remained unbeaten in European Tour events this season by winning three matches at the Paul Hunter Classic on Saturday.
World Champion and world number one Selby won the Riga Open earlier this month and kept his streak of form going in Germany.
After beating both Alexander Ursenbacher and Dominic Dale 4-0, Selby came from 3-1 down to edge out Shaun Murphy 4-3. Breaks of 74 and 83 put Murphy in front, but Selby fired in 107, 86 and 56 to win the last three frames.
World number two Neil Robertson came through a tough day, beating Elliot Slessor 4-3 in his opening match after Slessor passed up several chances to win. Robertson went on to beat Jimmy Robertson 4-0 then edged out Anthony McGill 4-3 by making a crucial break of 48 in the decider.
Fergal O’Brien beat Adam Duffy 4-0 in the last 32 with a top break of 71, while Thailand’s Dechawat Poomjaeng scored a 4-1 victory over Graeme Dott.
China’s Liang Wenbo beat Liam Highfield 4-2 with a top break of 98 while Ricky Walden came from 3-1 down to beat Chris Wakelin 4-3.
Scotland’s Fraser Patrick saw off Jamie Jones 4-1 while Rod Lawler completed a 4-3 win over James Cahill at nearly 3.30am. Cahill had earlier beaten John Higgins 4-2, the best result of the 18-year-old’s career so far.
