Liu Chuang is making his debut on the professional Tour in 2007/08 having become the sixth Chinese player on the circuit.
The teenager from the Liaoning Province came to the attention of the wider snooker world when he was selected as a wild card for the Honghe Industrial 2007 World Snooker China Open.
He shocked experienced Andy Hicks 5-4 in Beijing to set up a meeting with his idol Ronnie O’Sullivan, which he lost 5-1.
Liu was runner-up in a national Chinese junior tournament in 2005 and also reach the final of a national senior event the following year.
He reached the quarter-finals of the 2007 Asian Snooker Championship before losing 5-4 to Yasin Merchant.
