  • Zhao’s best run of the 2016/17 campaign came at the German Masters where he defeated John Higgins 5-1 and Akani Songsermsawad 5-0 on the way to the last 16, where he narrowly lost out to finalist Ali Carter.
  • Rated as one of China’s most talented prospects, Zhao earned his place on the tour at the 2015 ISBF World Championship.
  • He lost 8-6 in the final to Pankaj Advani, but as Advani decided not to take up his place on the tour, Xintong was handed the place instead.
  • Zhao played in several ranking events during the 2015/16 season as a Q School top up and reached the last 32 of the German Masters where he lost to eventual finalist Luca Brecel.
