  • Yan had an impressive debut season on the tour in 2016/17 and was awarded Rookie of the Year. He reached the last 16 on five occasions and also went on a run to the quarter-finals of the 2017 German Masters. Yan came through World Championship qualifying at Ponds Forge to reach the Crucible for the first time, where he was narrowly defeated by Shaun Murphy.
  • Yan won the 2015 Snooker World Cup alongside Zhou Yuelong. The gifted Chinese pair beat the likes of Wales and Australia before upsetting John Higgins and Stephen Maguire to claim the trophy for the China B team.
  • Yan qualified for the World Snooker Tour at the age of just 14, after winning the ISBF World Amateur title.
