  • He went on a run to the last 32 of the 2016 UK Championship, defeating Kyren Wilson and Sam Baird before defeat at the hands of Zhang Anda.
  • Mann regained his tour card thanks to his performances in the European Tour events in 2015/16.
  • Of those events, his best run came at the 2016 Gdynia Open where he made the last 16. Mann beat Jack Lisowski and Rhys Clark along the way, before being put out by Marco Fu.
  • The highlight of Mann’s season was undoubtedly making his first Crucible appearance, coming through a final frame decider with Dechawat Poomjaeng to book his place at the World Championships. He was beaten in the last 32 by Mark Allen.
  • Mann made his debut on the World Snooker Tour thanks to victory in the European Championship in 2014.
  • At the age of eight, he was diagnosed with Perthes’ disease, a rare condition which rots the hip bone in young boys. That forced him to stop playing football at the Aston Villa Academy and led him to taking up snooker instead.
