  • The Welshman went on an impressive run to the quarter-finals of the 2016 UK Championship in York. He beat Alan McManus, Ding Junhui and David Gilbert all by a 6-2 scoreline to reach the last eight. However, he lost out in a tense clash with Marco Fu 6-5. He also reached the same stage at the Paul Hunter Classic in Furth.
  • Jones’ best performance of the 2015/16 season came in the first event, the Australian Open ,as he recorded four victories, including a 5-1 defeat of Mark Selby and a 5-4 victory over fellow Welshman Michael White. His run was ended at the semi-final stage by a 6-4 loss against eventual champion John Higgins.
  • In 2014/15 he reached the last 16 of three ranking events: the Australian Open, Indian Open and China Open. Jones also got to the semi-finals of the one-frame Shoot-Out before losing to Xiao Guodong.
  • Jones went on a fantastic run at the 2012 World Championship. He recorded wins over Andy Hicks and Ricky Walden to earn a first ever trip to the Crucible. He was handed a tough draw against 2005 World Champion Shaun Murphy, but Jones played brilliantly to win 10-8. He kept his run alive with a 13-10 victory over Andrew Higginson before losing 13-11 to Ali Carter.
  • In 2010, Jones reached the final of the fifth Players Tour Championship event in Sheffield. He beat the likes of Martin Gould and Ricky Walden before losing 4-1 to Ding Junhui.
  • Touted as a potential successor to Welsh stars Mark Williams and Matthew Stevens, Jones won a string of amateur and junior titles including the Welsh Under-21 and European Under-19 in 2004.
