Figueiredo had never played on a full size table before 2009, as most tables in Brazil are only ten feet long.

He has since represented his country on the world stage and established himself as the best ever player from Brazil.

In 2010, he qualified for the final stages of the World Open in Glasgow. He beat Liu Chuang and Dave Gilbert to qualify, but his match live on BBC didn’t last long as he lost 3-0 to Mark Williams.

In 2017, Figueiredo reached the last 16 of a ranking event for the first time at the Welsh Open. He knocked out Alfie Burden, Anthony McGill and Dominic Dale before losing to Stuart Carrington. A few weeks later he reached the same stage of the Gibraltar Open.

Figueiredo came within one match of becoming the first Brazilian player to qualify for the Crucible in 2015. He came through World Championship qualifying matches against Nigel Bond and Rod Lawler, before losing to Robin Hull.

In 2019 he regained a place on the pro tour by winning the Americas Championship.
