  • The Welshman had the best season of his career to date in 2016/17. He reached the last 16 on two occasions, including a run at the China Open where he defeated Marco Fu. He also whitewashed Kyren Wilson on the way to reaching the same stage of the World Open.
  • Wells’ best run of the 2015/16 season saw him reach the last 16 of the 2015 Bulgarian Open.
  • He also whitewashed Anthony McGill and Xiao Guodong at the Paul Hunter Classic in 2015, before losing to Judd Trump in the last 32.
  • Wells earned a return to the World Snooker Tour in 2015 by coming through Q School. He beat Alexander Ursenbacher 4-1 in the final round of the first event.
  • He had dropped off the tour in 2014 after previously coming through Q School in 2012.
