Selt enjoyed a solid season in 2008/09. The 24-year-old from Romford enjoyed runs to the last 64 of both the Royal London Watches Grand Prix and the Maplin UK Championship - losing to Dave Gilbert and Adrian Gunnell respectively.
He only lost one first round match all season and that has seen him confirm his place at No 67 in the rankings.
Having regained a place on the professional Tour the previous season, Selt made the venue stage at the 2008 Welsh Open. Victories over Ben Woollaston, Barry Pinches and Mark Davis put him into the last 48 at the Newport Centre but he was unable to see off Stuart Bingham.
Selt had qualified for the pro circuit by finishing seventh on the 2006/07 Pontin’s International Open Series. He reached the semi-finals of one event and the quarters of three more.
The 2002 English under-18 runner-up, who played one season on the Tour in 2002/03, is a friend of Neil Robertson and a practice partner of Ronnie O’Sullivan.
