Haneveer made an impressive return to the professional tour in 2009/10 and climbed to No 62 in the world rankings.
He reached the last 32 of the Sanyuan Foods China Open, beating Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, David Roe, Stuart Pettman and Matthew Stevens to qualify for the venue. He then beat wild card Yu Delu before his run was ended by Marco Fu.
That was just a round short of the Belgian's best performance in a ranking event - he got to the last 16 of the 2002 Scottish Open in Aberdeen and the 2003 European Open in Torquay.
The six-times Belgian champion won the gold medal for snooker in the World Games in Akita, Japan, in 2001.
After dropping off the main tour, he reagined his place via the 2008/09 Pontin's International Open Series.
Haneveer is a part-time carpenter, and he and his partner Daisy have a son called Joppe, born in December 2009.
