Wilson regained a place on the main tour for 2013/14 thanks to his results in the PTC events during the previous season. His best run to him to the last 16 of the Scottish Open, beating the likes of Li Yan and Dave Harold before losing 4-3 to Mark Joyce.


The North-East cueman won the World under-21 title in 2004, beating Thailand's Kobkit Palajin 11-5 in the final. That earned him a place on the main tour and he stayed on for two seasons. His best run took him to the last 48 of the 2005 Irish Masters.
