The 2012/13 season was Duffy's second on the main tour and he struggled for positive results. The Sheffield-based cueman lost his opening match in six of the ten main ranking events and faled to qualify for any of the major venues.

At the 2012 the Welsh Open, Duffy beat the likes of James Wattana and Jack Lisowski to reach the final qualifying round before being denied a place at the venue by Peter Ebdon.

He earned a place on the professional circuit for the first time by coming through Q School in 2011. He beat former top 16 player David Gray 4-2 in the final round of event three.

Duffy, who won the Paul Hunter Scholarship in 2009, is a close friend of Judd Trump. Away from snooker he enjoys music and supporting Sheffield Wednesday.
