Figueiredo joined the long list of Brazilian sports stars to appear on TV, following the likes of Pele and Ayrton Senna, when he qualified for the final stages of the 12BET.com World Open in 2010.

He beat Liu Chuang and Dave Gilbert to reach the final stages in Glasgow, but his match live on BBC didn't last log as he lost 3-0 to Mark Williams.

Figueiredo didn't qualify for a ranking event venue in the remainder of the season, but a few decent runs in the Players Tour Championship events allowed him to keep his place on the main tour.

Arguably the best snooker player ever to emerge from Brazil, Figueiredo had never played on a full size table before 2009, as most tables in Brazil are only ten feet long.

He was awared a wild card to the main tour after reaching the final of the 2009 IBSF World Championship, losing 10-8 to Alfie Burden in the final in India.
