Snooker's second biggest ranking tournament takes place at the International Centre in Telford from December 13 to 21.
The award-winning Shropshire Star is one of the UK's largest regional daily newspapers, with a circulation of around 74,000 copies each evening.
Launched in 1964, it has eight editions, and covers the whole of Shropshire, plus Powys in Mid Wales, and parts of North Herefordshire and South Cheshire.
It is part of the Midland News Association, which also publishes the Wolverhampton-based Express & Star evening newspaper and runs radio stations Telford FM and The Severn.
World Snooker's Head of Press Office Ivan Hirschowitz said: "The Shropshire Star was our official media partner when we first staged the Maplin UK Championship in Telford last year and we were very pleased with the support we received.
"The publicity for the event generated by the Star was a key factor behind the excellent level of attendance from snooker fans in the region and the overall success of the tournament.
"We are delighted to have the Star as our official media partner again. Over the past few weeks we have been working with them on promotional activity to build the profile of one of snooker's biggest tournaments, and the signs are that the fans will be out in force again."
