David Grace swept to a 4-0 whitewash victory against Heather Clare to move within four matches of an immediate return to the World Snooker Tour at Q School Event Two in Burton.
Grace, who reached the semi-finals of the UK Championship in 2015, fell off the tour at the end of the last campaign. The Yorkshireman will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of four other players that were also relegated from the tour in 2017/18, who claimed the qualifying places in event one.
Grace fired in breaks of 58, 60, 61 and 58 today as he eased through to the next round, where he will face Malaysia’s Thor Chuan Leong, who defeated India’s Jaspal Bamotra 4-0.
Blackpool’s ex-professional James Cahill secured a 4-2 victory over Belgian Hans Blanckaert. While Christopher Keogan defeated Alex Borg 4-0.
