Kacper Filipiak has become the first ever Polish snooker player to compile a competitive maximum break.

The 19-year-old made his 147 in a PLS Top 16 match against Marcin Nitschke.

Filipiak, currently a member of Krooger Team, plated on the World Snooker Tour in 2011/12 and was tipped as a potential World Champion by Ronnie O’Sullivan. He’s the reigning Polish Champion and has won several amateur titles.

His manager Przemek Kruk said: “To make a 147 is a proud moment for Kacper and for Polish snooker. He has been working extremely hard and it’s paying off. This 147 is another milestone and surely not the last. It will give a boost to Kacper himself and other hopefuls in the country.”

Filipiak will be playing at the Gdynia Open and is preparing for Q-School later this year.

However his maximum will not count in the list of official 147s as it was not made in a professional tournament.
