EPSBEnglish Partnership for Snooker and Billiards Announces Whole Sport Plan

The English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (“EPSB”) has today announced its Whole Sports Plan in England, bringing together professional, amateur, ladies and disability snooker, as well as successful projects including the Cue Zone into Schools programme.

Formed in August 2015, the EPSB comprises representatives of the English Association of Snooker and Billiards (“EASB”), World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association Limited (“WPBSA”), World Billiards Limited (“WBL”), World Ladies Billiards and Snooker Limited (“WLBS”) and World Disability Billiards and Snooker Limited (“WDBS”).

The launch of the Whole Sports Plan will guarantee the future of grassroots snooker and billiards in England. The plan involves projects and initiatives engaging both young and old, which will reach communities and cities throughout the country.

WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson said: “Snooker is a booming, worldwide sport and as a governing body it is our responsibility to provide a framework for sound sports development. The Whole Sports Plan is exactly that for England. Our ambition is to provide equal opportunities for all and ensure safe and clean environments for participation. It will also align our sport in the creation of elite sportsperson development.”

EASB Chairman Jeff Robinson said: “For many years, professional and amateur snooker have worked separately. This announcement today brings us together as one sport. This is a much needed opportunity for amateur snooker and will ensure our long term future.”
