Eden Sharav Q&A

Scottish player who finished top of the 2014 Q School ranking list.

How do you feel you performed in Q School?

I feel I performed well in Q school and was just unlucky not to win my last match against Michael Leslie. But I was the most consistent player and I finished number one on the Order of Merit.

What are your hopes and expectations for this season?

Just to win as many matches as I can and hopefully get onto the tour for next season.

When did you first start playing snooker?

At the age of 12.

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?

My strengths are my break building and safety play, my weakness would be that my mental and physical health is probably not where I want it to be yet.

Where do you practise, who with and how many hours a day?

I’ve been practising at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester recently and playing with a bunch of good players including Robert Milkins, Kishan Hirani, Daniel Wells, Michael Wasley, Aaron Cook and Hassan Vaizie. I try to practise 5 or 6 hours a day.

Do you play full time or do you have a job as well?

I’m more or less full time just now, but I also work in the bar in the Academy.

Who are your snooker idols?

Stephen Hendry for his winning mentality, and Ronnie O’Sullivan because he’s a genius!

What are your hobbies and interests away from snooker?

I enjoy keeping fit and going the gym. I also like going to the cinema and I enjoy most sports.
