In-form John Higgins and defending champion Shaun Murphy were among the players to make it through to the last 16 of the Victoria Bulgaria Open with three wins on Saturday.
It’s a strong line up for the final day in Sofia on Sunday, with five of the world’s top ten still in contention for the 25,000 Euro top prize at the season’s fourth Kreativ Dental Clinic European Tour event.
Higgins won the International Championship last Sunday and is on course for back-to-back titles after beating Richard Beckham 4-1, David Gilbert 4-3 and Zhou Yuelong 4-1.
Murphy saw off Hammad Miah 4-2 in the third round with a top break of 106. Mark Allen edged out World Champion Stuart Bingham in the last 64 and went on to beat Nigel Bond 4-1.
Stuart Carrington made a 109 in a 4-2 win over Ricky Walden while Mark Williams top scored with 118 in a 4-1 defeat of Oliver Lines.
Daniel Wells, Michael Holt and Mike Dunn also scored three wins apiece on Saturday.
